I have decided that I don't like normal resume's. I feel they don't accurately portray my work history. Therefore, I've created a abridged resume that is shorter, to the point, and explains more of what I do. To see the normal resume, please click here.

Education:

BS In Agricultural Communications and Education with a concentration in  Advertising from the University of Illinois in Champaign Illinois
http://www.illinois.edu/

My major was the same as the College of Media/Communications advertising program  a top 5 advertising program). However, I took more PR classes, journalism classes, and education classes. I don't just sell, market or advertise, I teach the consumer.  I started my first two years in Broadcast Journalism where I got into radio. I still have a radio program.

Cisco Networking Academy

I went through the entire class to get my CCNA. (Cisco Certified Networking Professional) However, I never took the test to actually gain my CCNA. This decision was based upon me taking the classes while in high school and I had decided to change my career path to journalism thus i didn't feel it necessary.

Capstone

Capstone I participated in in high school that was sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce as well as local businesses. It's goal was to take the best kids in the area in both computer technology and business and merge them into a mini business that would have a directed final project. Here I learned about internet business, working as a part of a team, leading a team, and maintaining client relationships.

Currently, I sit on the stearing committee.

Work Experience:

Direct Marketing Specialist
Horizon Hobby: 2006 - present
http://www.horizonhobby.com/

I started in 2006 as an intern. When I began, I mostly worked on marketing campaigns for our consumer group and all of our web analytics. This including creating and conducting phone surveys, multiple internet surveys with Survey Monkey, and segmenting out our market. I also oversaw the purchasing of address lists as well as publication tracking. I also manage all of our Google Adwords campaigns and have mantained a 4%+ average CTR with many campaigns reaching 9-20% CTR. I also managed and still manage all of the web analytics using both Google Analytics and WebTrends with Baynote Insights and Endeca's reporting engine.

Currently, as a full time employee for over a year, I work more as a web development consultant. I manage and oversee many projects to better the web site. This includes redesigns, 3rd party solution integration, adding a quickview, and all the additions of new features to our site. In this role, I not only determine the proper solutions, I also see it from conception to completion as a project manager. I however do no development work despite my development background.

With my background in site design and development, I am one of the few business users who can understand the technology behind the site, understand exactly how it works, and still be knowledgeable enough to make business decisions based upon whether a feature is useful, not just new and cool. This separates me from the pack as one who can make a 100% well-rounded educated decision on site features and methodology.

I also maintain all of the site tracking. This is everything from finacial data of the e-commerce site to click-through rates, abandonment rates, pageviews, time on site, etc...

Owner / Founder
Club303 / Top Spin Productions: 2000 - present
http://www.club303.com/

I debated putting this second on my resume as DJing isn't relavent to the internet. However, I feeling it speaks strongly of my organizationl skills and history as well as my success in business so i felt it was equally as important.

Club303 is a very successful DJ and promotion company for many years now. As the owner, I have learned a lot about running a business. This includes everything from advertising, maintaining a  professional image, paying employees, working with business partners, and organizing successful teams.

Besides DJing everything from school dances and weddings to street festivles and pool parties, Club303 is a very successful promotions machine with over 20 parties under it's belt. Running these events include finding a venue, creating fliers, creating target edemails, web sites, and any other sawg, negociating drink specials, decorating the venue, and DJing the event.

Because of this, we have developed quite a formula for filling a night club to capacity using promoting techniques. I translate a lot of these skills over to internet marketing with my experience in promoting an event or business as well as web and graphic design. I did all the web and graphic design and coding for all of our parties and web sites.

Web Designer
Freelance: 1998 - Present

I have been doing web design freelance for over 10 years. I have worked on 40+ web sites. A lot of sites were done so long ago that they have either been re-done, the company has gone out of business, or the old 1998 design they refuse to change is just not good to show.

Designer / Developer
SHO Research: 1997-1998

This was a web 1.0 company. The concept never got off the ground before we were finished. The site was MilktheRabbit.com and was intended to rate B2B businesses. It was a decent concept but not executed effectively and had a bad name. I designed the site and did some development on it.

Misc:

Owner / Co-Founder
303 Design: 2005 - 2007
http://www.303design.net/

This company never quite got off the ground. Issues with partners and technology not quite being there and a lack of funding and time killed this project. Would be nice to get it started.

Front of store / Network architecht / IT / Web Designer
The Finish Point:2001 - 2007
http://www.thefinishpoint.com/

I worked at a small film processing lab. When I started, they had no computers. When I left, he had 8, a web site, was creating DVD's on computers, doing photo restoration, and starting videotography. I still freelance for him doing photo restoration.

On-Air Personality / Producer / Engineer
Surfabilly Freakout - WPGU 107.1: 2006 - present
http://www.surfabillyfreakout.com/

This is a radio show with at least five hosts. The number varies on the day. I am the primary engineer, spot producer, and I am on-air on the show. It's a fun hobby of mine.
